Yesterday we took Jeremy on a big adventure and I think he probably had the best day of his life. We took our urban hound out to Long Island to spend the day with some friends who were having a BBQ.
So Jeremy has hit the big time as far as modelling goes for Dogs... he is on the label of a Dog Food. The fame and fortune have naturally gone to his head and he is a true "Pupermodel".
Continue reading “He's a Pupermodel !!!”What a morning! We took Jeremy to the vet this morning for his third shot and a puppy check up. He weighs 12lbs 9oz (14 weeks). The vet said he was doing great, is very healthy and was happy to give him his shot. He said that we need to still avoid direct dog-dog contact for another 2 weeks, and keep him away from nastiness on the streets but said it was OK for us to start taking him outside. Then he told us that we could walk him home!
Continue reading “The great outdoors”Just to set the scene....
We have wooden floors throughout our apartment, which is obviously great for housetraining, but it makes the floor a little slippery for Jeremy's tender pink paws. It took him a few days but he soon got to grips with the physics of forward motion and learned that he couldn't just stop running and expect to stay on his feet, lol, and has now learned that he needs to slow down before stopping and turning - unless of course his intention is to slide on his side or belly across the apartment.
Continue reading “Jeremy's Short-Stop days are over.”We went to the vet today because Jeremy had an upset tummy which wasn't very nice to say the least! Whilst we were there they plopped him on the scales and he came in at a whopping 6lbs 9oz. That's a staggering 1lb 2oz he's put on in 11 days! He really is growing like a weed and soon won't be able to fit under the sofa and in all his other favourite nooks and crannies!
Continue reading “Growing like a weed”Well it's been a week now and oh boy what a week! It's like suddenly having a toddler in the house but one that doesn't wear diapers! Jeremy is so feisty and in everything we can't take our eyes off him for a second. He is a true pleasure though.

We got home with Jeremy at around 1pm this afternoon. The journey from the breeder's was "interesting". Who knew such noise could come out of something so tiny! He SCREAMED the whole way home. However once we got back to Manhattan and out of the car he was fine, so we think it was the car he particularly didn't like (Tech's driving can do that to you! lol) We let him out of the carrier when we got into the apartment and he has had a whale of a time for the last hour or so, running round sniffing everything and playing with some of his new toys and of course us! He seems very happy. We have taken around 30 photos already, but it's a challenge he runs off just as the shutter goes, so we have lots of "Jeremy was here" photos. He is now sleeping contently in his basket.
Continue reading “And then there was three”Yesterday we finally got to go and meet the litter and pick out our puppy! The breeder lives out in New Jersey so we had to hire a car for the day. The journey in itself was a bit of an adventure. We opted to rent the car in Jersey City near Mark's office (just over the water from us) so as not to have to drive in the city. Firstly when we got the car there was a problem and we had to switch cars, which delayed our departure by about half an hour. Then, although the journey should have taken us a little over an hour, exiting Jersey City on the right road proved almost as hard as trying to find the exit in a Las Vegas Casino! The road layout is a complete nightmare and we wound up going round in circles for 30 minutes trying to get onto the right Interstate (Motorway) at the right junction. So even though we allowed 2 hours for the journey we still wound up being late! "Quelle surprise!"
Continue reading “Puppy-Picking”Bonnie's eight puppies enjoying some playtime with another litter of six, who are just under 3 weeks older. Their mommy is Cutie Pie and their Daddy is the same as Bonnie's litter.... Sammy. Sammy is one busy Daddy these days!
Continue reading “Playtime”The puppies are now 18 days old and we finally have some individual pictures of them.
They are so adorable, still tiny but looking less like little cows and more like Beagles!
We can't wait to go and meet them and pick one out.
Tomorrow the pups will be one week old. Everyone is doing great. Bonnie is a fantastic mommy and won't leave their side for a second. Terry (the breeder) has to pick her up and carry her outside for a potty break. In a few more days she'll venture out without being forced. Her goal right now is 24/7 undivided attention. The pups have had no trouble finding their food supply from the second they were born and are gaining weight every day, they currently weigh between 14 ounces and 1 pound 1 ounce, so they're all very close in size. They're eyes and ears are still shut, but probably within the next few days they'll start to open and they're faces are already starting to get their browns.

The puppies have arrived ![]()
First time Mom, Bonnie, did a terrific job yesterday and gave birth to a litter of eight gorgeous and healthy puppies, 5 boys and 3 girls.

We have taken a leap and decided to get a Beagle Puppy. We have both always wanted to get a dog (or two) when we start a family, but since the family is taking longer than we hoped, we decided not to wait!
