Jeremy's first week.

Well it's been a week now and oh boy what a week! It's like suddenly having a toddler in the house but one that doesn't wear diapers! Jeremy is so feisty and in everything we can't take our eyes off him for a second. He is a true pleasure though.

The first few nights he was a little unsure about things and nervous because of the adjustment to being without his Mom and litter mates, but by the forth night he was sleeping contently, with no hysterics at bedtime. He can currently sleep for about 6 hours before he has to get up and go potty, that is pretty good for a puppy of only 8 weeks and fortunately he usually will settle back down in his bed for another hour or so before demanding his breakfast.

He has totally bonded with us and we absolutely adore him. He has such a wonderful temperament, both playful and energetic whilst still being extremely cuddly, which is exactly what we wanted in our dog and one of the main reason we chose to have a Beagle.

He is growing so fast. Even in the last week we can see big changes not only in his size but also in his intelligence. He is less clumsy now and his eyesight is much better. He has started "problem solving" and figuring out solutions to things like how to get to something he is too small to reach. He body is changing too, he has developed a true Beagle shape now and has great conformity to the breed standard. He is currently 8½" tall, 10½" long, his chest is 12½" and last Monday at the vet, he was a whopping 5lbs 7oz. His browns are starting to fleck through the black fur and his pink nose is filling in gradually.

He is a whole heap of trouble but he is also a joy. He's so wonderfully adorable and we couldn't love him more.

He's adorable, and I am so please you are recording all Jeremy's puppyhood. I got my Beagle through Terry--Annie had a small litter, so she found us a female, Penny from another breeder she knew. Penny is a doll, a cuddly whirlwind.

Jeremy will be 10 months before you know it, but you'll be able to look at his baby photos.
